Amendment Recommendations

1 – NO We already specify that only citizens can vote in our Constitution.

2 – YES  We want to increase the state minimum wage to $15 by 2026

3 – NO    We do NOT want the “Top Two” primary winners to be on the final ballot.  That could result in two people in the SAME PARTY running for an office

4 – NO  No need for an Amendment to be voted on twice

5 – NO  This would substantially decrease tax revenues at a time when our state resources are already strained

6 – YES  This will allow a Homestead Tax Exemption to transfer to the surviving spouse of a deceased veteran.  This is supported unanimously by both Democrats and Republicans in the Florida Legislature.

There are also two additional ballot items specific to Polk County and the DEC recommends voting NO on both of them.  In brief, they would add more power and less oversight to our County Commission.
